As I think about the ANZACS this year I think about the pillars on which our country was founded. The bravery and valor, the strength and sacrifice, the national pride of those men and women who fought and died while defending our freedom.
They gave their lives for the cause they believed in; they died for Australia. They believed that their actions in the present would make a significant difference for the generations to come...
As disciples of Christ, we must hold to the same belief. Our actions and our example - Christ IN US and THROUGH US - makes all the difference for someone else's future. The Bible says:
One generation shall praise Your works to another,
And shall declare Your mighty acts.
Psalm 145:4
This weekend I want to take time to honour the ANZAC's and give due weight to the unbelievable sacrifice they made for the freedom we enjoy today, and the rich heritage they have passed on to generations of Australians and New Zealanders.
