A Note from Pastor Brian
Dear Pastor and Leader friend,
I am excited to tell you about a new initiative that I have been feeling stirred and inspired about for several months.
On Monday 12th - Wednesday 14th November 2012, Bobbie and I will be hosting our first ever Church Leadership Summit, "LET’S TALK CHURCH" in Honolulu, Hawaii. The summit is specifically for Church Leaders and Church Pastors. It is an opportunity to gather together and talk at a really practical level about issues relating to church life, the “how to’s” and “what if’s” of church leadership.
Pastor Art Sepúlveda is kindly allowing us to use Word of Life's church facilities for the hosting of these sessions, which will commence at 9am and conclude at 1pm each day. Our aim is create a relaxed environment, a conference with an opportunity for some interaction during each session.
I'm pleased to announce that two of our team, Christine Caine (A21) plus Gary Clarke (Hillsong London) will also be contributing speakers.
Our passion is the local church and I believe God challenged me many years ago to build and inspire others to raise up influential churches committed to fulfilling their God-given potential. I see this as my life's work.
Bobbie and I are intentionally limiting the conference sessions so that church pastors and leaders can also get some rest and recreation together on the beautiful island of Oahu. We have great expectation that this week will be one of deep insight and learning, and a time of relaxation and fellowship.

Who are Brian and Bobbie?
Many Pastors and ministry leaders around the world regard Pastor Brian Houston as a well-loved and influential church statesman.
Along with his wife, Bobbie, they are the Senior Pastors of Hillsong Church; a local church with several global campuses, known for it's healthy approach to Church life, Mission, Innovation, Conferences, College and Praise and Worship. His teaching resources and podcasts are in high demand - connecting people to Biblical truths, with a unique ability to apply them to everyday issues of life. Pastor Brian’s warm and yet confronting style has gained a worldwide audience through Hillsong Television, one of Hillsong Church’s primary mission endeavours. Hillsong Television can be watched from nearly every nation, through traditional TV platforms and digital Internet technology.
Today, Hillsong Church is described as “One House, with many rooms.” Currently, it comprises of four campuses in Australia, plus 12 extension services and a citywide network of connect groups. Hillsong’s global congregations continue to add life and depth to this local church, with campuses in influential cities such as London, Cape Town, Kiev, Moscow, Paris, Stockholm, Germany, Amsterdam and New York City. Each Hillsong Church plant is passionate about the local communities in which they operate and place a strong emphasis on social justice and helping people both within their own city and abroad.
Brian grew up in New Zealand to parents who were Salvation Army officers and always felt called to be a part of the local church. Today, after more than 30 years of marriage, and after pastoring Hillsong Church for 28 years, Brian and Bobbie have three adult children, four grandchildren and MANY spiritual sons and daughters who often affectionately call him "The Big Eagle.” (Who knows why!?)
Pastor Brian lives by a conviction that "THE BEST IS YET TO COME" and when you are around him, it's hard not to believe that that is the truth…
