There is so much chatter and flux over governments and those who are in leadership of nations and more importantly the people of those nations.
A timeless contention it seems.
Right standing governments who steward the land wisely for the betterment of their citizens is vital. Their (elected) role is to help make the land function and prosper. Their role is to protect from unrighteous agenda that brings harm. Governments, whether local, state or federal exist to serve the people who have entrusted stewardship to them — but one thing government can’t do is minister and heal the human heart.
They can’t supplant the one position reserved for the One who created us all and knows what is truly and eternally best. Governments can help serve His heart, but as the quote says “government cannot heal the broken hearted” - because it is the “anointing of, and upon the Anointed One, Jesus Christ, that does that”.
So … as the Body of Christ (the Church who he saw as he hung upon that brutal Cross), let’s continue to love one another to wholeness. Whether you live in a landscape of peace or contention, security or upheaval - the one thing we can endeavor to remain constant in is LOVE.
LOVE that believes in others.
LOVE that chooses empathy and grace.
LOVE that forgives and prays for His Will to be done.
Isaiah prophesies His coming, and who He is.
“The people who walk in [spiritual] darkness Will see a great Light; Those who live in the dark land, The Light will shine on. For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the GOVERNMENT shall be upon His shoulder, And His name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. There shall be NO END TO THE INCREASE of His government and of peace, [He shall rule] on the throne of David and over his kingdom, To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness From that time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this”
Isaiah 9:2, 6-7 AMP
