Shooting from centre court

5 seconds to go in the fourth quarter, all pressure is on you. Can you take home the win from centre court. The everyday challenges of being a father, husband and CEO can often feel like the last 5 seconds of basketball game. All the weight resting on your shoulders.

In the world of sports, there are few moments as exhilarating and nerve-wracking as the last five seconds of the fourth quarter. As the clock ticks down, the weight of the game rests on your shoulders. Will you seize the opportunity and emerge victorious, or will the pressure overwhelm you? In these critical moments, finding strength and guidance from sacred scriptures can make all the difference. Let's explore three scriptures that inspire us to thrive under pressure and triumph from the center court.

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

Our strength comes from God. When I thought I was in my final hour of trials or pressure, I knew that I could make it through because of this one promise! When faced with the intense pressure of the final moments, we can draw upon the unlimited strength and support granted only by God. With Him by our side, we can rise above our limitations and accomplish the seemingly impossible.

"This is my command—be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

In the book of Joshua, God encourages His people to be strong and courageous. Joshua was going into battle after battle. He must have been worn down, tired, ready to give up. But right here God tells him exactly what He is telling us today. God reassures us that, when facing high-stakes situations, we need not fear or become discouraged. Do not fear!! The promise of God's presence provides us with the confidence to navigate the pressure with boldness and determination.

"For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline."

As believers, we are equipped with the Spirit of God, which empowers us to face challenges head-on. The Holy Spirit gives us POWER! In the face of pressure, we need not succumb to fear or timidity. Instead, we can tap into the power, love, and self-discipline that God has bestowed upon us, enabling us to perform at our best even in the most intense moments.

The final five seconds of the fourth quarter on center court can be a defining moment in the world of sports. It is a time when pressure is at its peak, and the outcome hangs in the balance. By anchoring ourselves in the wisdom of The Word of God, we can find the strength, courage, and confidence needed to thrive under pressure.

Philippians 4:13 Reminds us that our strength comes from God

Joshua 1:9 Assures us of God's presence wherever we go

2 Timothy 1:7 Reinforces that we are not timid but empowered by the Spirit of God.

With these scriptures as our guide, we can take on the challenge, embrace the pressure, and rise victoriously from center court.
